Friday 16th March:

Skinners Brewery Tour With Cornish Language

Join us for an evening of real ale, a private brewery tour and much merriment as we learn some Cornish along the way. This is an exciting opportunity to see behind the scenes at Skinners Brewery on a tour that's spoken in Cornish as well as English. This event begins at 7.30 where we congregate around the bar to sample a beer before we embark on our tour. The tour itself takes us behind the scenes of this Cornish brewery on a private viewing of all that's involved in the creation of their extensive and popular range of ales. Accompanying the tour will be the fluent Cornish speaker, Pol Hodge, who will transport you back to a time when korev was a frequently used word in pubs to describe all beer throughout Cornwall. We will return to the bar at the end of the tour to enjoy more of the Skinners finely brewed ale and maybe even practise a bit of our newly acquired Cornish skills. A pasty is also included for an all round Cornish drinking, eating and speaking experience. There are meat, vegetarian and gluten free pasties available.
There is not a set limit on the amount of ale you can drink but we will not tolerate drunken behaviour.
There are some stairs on the tour and close toed shoes must be worn.
The total price for this tour, real ale and pasty is: £17.50 per person with a £5.00 deposit required to secure your place. The balance can be paid on the evening.
